Pet Laser and Red Light Therapy
Drawing from over 30 years of research and development, laser therapy has been used in both human and animal medicine as an effective non-invasive, drug-free treatment used for pain management, tissue repair, and muscle therapy.
How does cold laser work?
Cold Laser is a non-toxic, non-invasive, non-painful treatment that uses coherent light emission from a low intensity laser diode placed directly on the area to be treated. The absorbtion of this light increases the cellular metabolic rate, releases beta-endorphins, increases cortisol production, facilitates neurotransmission, improves lymphatic drainage, stimulates the immune response, promotes healthy tissue growth, and essentially begins a cascade of positive effects.

Because Cold Laser has a cumulative effect, typically 3 to 5 treatments, varying from 15 to 30 minutes in duration, are required to see results. We have found that in many cases, we see the best results when combining acupuncture/ acupressure with laser therapy. The end result of Cold Laser treatment is the restoration of normal function of the cell unit. Normally functioning cells are not adversely affected. In contrast to other therapies, Cold Laser is reparative rather than just masking pain or seeing temporary improvements.
Cold Laser therapy is helpful in many situations, however it is not recommended if your pet has cancer as it can stimulate blood flow to cancer cells. Acupuncture, acupressure, and massage therapy remain safe for your pet even if your pet has cancer.
